Okay i lied - in addition to the 57 bugs, Bill's car battery was also lost during the trip - oh poor Subaru.
Just got back. Berto, we gave you some shit, but it was all in fun. Thanks for driving - and for the alive arrival.
Final 13 miles - great trip! Alberto thanks for putting up with all of our shit - the bugs on the windshield were the only things that were physically harmed, all 57 of them. Tour guides you were great -- next time please wear matching neon green tank-tops so we can spot you in a crowd.
Welcome to Ohio!
So the ride home has been pretty chill, hopwever after what was a quaint reststop adventure - we ha a race with an 18-wheeler, in which some yelling at backseat drivers led us to concede the race and let the trucker win - as if he was saying "Eat it Jetta" on the way by
much yelling and blaming ensued
almost home - and a relatively uneventful ride just about ended by being crushed by a semi leaving the rest stop
Why is it that the ride home always seems so much longer than the way there?
Picnic complete - car games are the best and hilarious, i mean what picnic is complete without mouthgaurds and zoo animals?
Clearly the words aren't flying quite like they were at the start of this trip. Stopped for a bite to eat at the delicious Twilight Diner. Full tank of gas and we're coming up on Bellefonte, PA. Current speed: 74 MPH.
Maybe it's the fact that I have only had about seven hours of sleep in the past two nights, but the ride has been pretty smooth so far.
So yesterday on the way to lunch, I received the following text from my friend Mary: "Billy, that blog about Alberto was mean. Aren't you grateful to him for driving you?"

First, I guess it should be said that none of this was meant to be mean. We're just poking fun. As we always do. Maybe we're just always mean.

Secondly, we definitely appreciate Alberto driving us. It's been fun. Death defying fun.

Almost hit a merging car - berto isn't acustomed to the right lane
I can ride my bike with no handlebars - no handlebars - no handlebars

Made it. Alive. Has this been announced already? Anyway, mission accomplished. 50% at least. The return begins on Sunday.
City skyline in sight.
I can see the city!
Almost came to a full stop on 80 - CRAZY - crisis averted still going the right way
HOLY SHIT
we just got hit with a rock going 85 - now there's a windshield crack - we:re destined to die
Aww never too far from work we are all eagerly awaiting the add-on report
Passed the Delaware Water Gap. Traffic is getting worse. This is where the real danger begins. Car still being guided with one hand at 6 o'clock.
Neeeerrr sound Alberto makes when changing lanes
Bill: 'um i know youre swerving all over the road' - Berto: 'yah but am I off the road?!'
Just got done with a brief pitstop in Lamar, PA. Got a veggie sub from Subway. Just like Jared would do! And for the record, Berto tried to pull in the 'exit only' of the gas station. Then tried to kill us via oncoming traffic on the way out of the gas station AND turning to get to the entrance ramp for I-80. He blamed his just-purchased beef jerky.
Do not enter - do not enter - DO NOT ENTER!

Hands at 10 & 2? Hells no! Just one hand at 6 is all we need.
swerve
He just got passed on the right. Now I think we are going to drag race him.
Not to worry bill took the wheel for a while... from the passenger seat
Mid drive wardrobe change, only with this bunch
Rolling up on Emlenton, PA. Speed: 74. Alberto is all fired up about work politics. But driving pretty well.
Near death experience = AA merging onto the turnpike, slamming on breaks and debating on going the wrong direction = hilarious
Complaint #1 - you guys cant text if I cant check my BlackBerry!
All in. One illegal UTurn, a stop for Starbucks and gass. Now we're highway bound.
Still in the cleve and we've already rolled thru 4 stop signs and there were 2 BlackBerry checks

In About 14 Hours

The kick off of this blog coincides with a roadtrip from Cleveland, OH to New York, NY.  The trip kicks off tomorrow morning. 07:00am is the planned meet-up and departure time. We'll highlight anything that seems highlightable. Until Alberto finds out about all of this and starts yelling, "What are you talking about? I'm a great driver. I'm a great driver! I hate you right now."

And FYI: some of the posts might be lacking in titles, as the posting via text message doesn't really seem to support that (at least that I can figure).  There also might be some spelling mistakes. And maybe other mistakes too. This isn't a perfect science yet.

Stay tuned ...
